BTS: Holland Cooper x The Telegraph Country Style Shoot
On a sunny Autumnal day, we met Cotswolds-based designer Jade Holland Cooper at esteemed racehorse trainer Jonjo O’Niell’s yard to shoot something exciting for The Sunday Telegraph.
Ahead of the acclaimed November Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse, 16th-18th November, Jade showed us how to style the perfect race-day outfit. Thinking of the silhouette your outfit creates, whilst also dressing for the weather is a must for a day at the races, says the founder of British lifestyle brand Holland Cooper.
Houndstooth Coat with burgundy trilby
“When racing you always have to consider the weather, it can be very changeable at Cheltenham, I find a long coat teamed with slim fit J Brand jeans is a clever choice for layering. I like to top off a monochrome outfit with a burgundy Holland Cooper trilby, which adds a colour pop whilst completing an outfit.”
Tawny trench and camel trilby
“Made from classic Tawny tweed, the Marlborough trench coat is warm enough to last the full day at the races. This piece is a nod to heritage style whilst also offering a fashionable take on the classic. I pair it with fine knitwear, trilby and Stuart Weitzman boots for a smart, sharp look.”
Red tartan jacket
“At Cheltenham there is far more tweed than at other racecourses, hemlines are longer than they are at Aintree, but this doesn’t mean you can’t stand out. I’ve accessorised with thigh-high Balmain boots and my favourite Celine sunglasses, for a chic look. I’m wearing Holland Cooper’s Windsor jacket in red tartan due to its sharp cut and modern take on heritage.”
