A fashion graduate with a BA (Hons) degree in Writing Fashion and Culture from Southampton Solent University, Katie’s unique course combined two of her main passions: creative writing and fashion. Studying the main sectors of fashion including journalism, PR, photography, feature writing and styling, Katie also completed a number of internships, including a placement at YOU magazine and within the buzzing press office of New Look's Head Office.
Since graduating Katie has worked from both an agency and in-house PR and marketing perspective. Starting her career within the beauty and lifestyle sector at global beauty marketer and manufacturer SLG, Katie went on to head up brand collaborations at fashion PR agency etailPR. Here she worked with their digital PR team on Europe’s largest Blogger Network for clients including AX Paris, Motel Rocks, Little Mistress, Quiz and Chi Chi London. Start-up social media app, Tagstr, followed, where Katie used her social media experience to work with their brand ambassadors, as well as being a point of contact for press. Katie soon realised she missed working with fashion and moved to become PR & Retail Manager for watch brand, Abbott Lyon. Being with the brand from the very beginning, Katie had a hand in everything. From organising and orchestrating photoshoots - launching their first sunglasses range with Made in Chelsea’s Frankie Gaff as well as many other influencer projects - managing pop up shops, to copywriting and liaising with all stockists and wholesalers.
Katie’s career highlight came when she pitched the brand to retail giants John Lewis and ASOS and secured both accounts.
After taking time out to travel, Katie returned to the UK and subsequently fashion and lifestyle, by joining Bloxham PR.
A keen writer in her spare time, Katie has her own Style & Fashion column within Gloucestershire’s local monthly magazine and is continuously working on her novel - which she hopes one day to get published!
